How do I pre-ship my bags to my destination?
1. Decide what to ship
– Ship clothing, shoes, bulky items, sports gear, golf clubs, non-perishable food, Amazon packages etc.
– Keep passports, IDs, cash, electronics, medications, and valuables with you — do not ship them.
2. Choose a carrier or service
-Only choose UPS or FedEx
-We will not pick up from USPS or DHL
3. Book & schedule
– Enter the delivery address provided to you upon confirmation of your reservation.
– Choose service speed (economy, express, overnight) and add insurance if needed.
– Confirm weight and dimension limits and any extra fees.
4. Prepare your luggage
– Pack securely: use sturdy suitcases or shipping boxes. Reinforce weak seams. Use internal straps and wrap fragile items in bubble wrap.
– Empty batteries from devices if required; remove loose batteries or follow carrier rules for lithium batteries.
– Label inside the bag with your name and contact info in case outer label is damaged.
5. Weigh & measure
– Accurately weigh and measure dimensions to avoid surcharges. Note the declared value if purchasing insurance.
6. Attach labels & documents
– Print and attach the carrier label(s) securely to the outside of the luggage. Put a duplicate copy inside.
– For international shipments, complete customs forms (detailed contents, value, purpose “temporary” vs “permanent” if applicable).
7. Pickup or drop-off
– Either schedule a pickup from home/airport/hotel or drop off at an authorized UPS or FedEx location. Confirm pickup window and tracking number.
8. Track & confirm delivery
– Provide tracking number to MV Luggage Service as soon as you receive.
– Continue to monitor progress.
– Notify MV Luggage Service delivery of your arrival date and time
9. On arrival
– Confirm with MV Luggage service of your arrival.
10. Return or onward shipping (optional)
– If you need return shipping, arrange a return label or schedule pickup prior to leaving the destination.
Key timelines (typical)
– Same-day/overnight: available via premium services.
– 1–3 business days: express domestic.
– 3–7 business days: economy domestic.
– 1–4 weeks: international economy (depends on customs)
